Position: Respiratory Therapist I, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Location: Vancouver, BC

Overview: As a dedicated professional in the field of respiratory therapy, you are passionate about providing exceptional care to neonatal and maternal populations. Your expertise as a CBRC-certified respiratory therapist, combined with your strong analytical skills, allows you to contribute effectively to an interdisciplinary team, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory care, both routine and intensive, adhering to established clinical protocols and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with the NICU team, providing respiratory therapy insights and support.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and document care plans, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Manage and operate respiratory equipment, ensuring proper setup and maintenance.
  • Administer individualized medical gas therapies and monitor patients requiring ventilatory support.
  • Perform both invasive and non-invasive cardio-pulmonary assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care examination.
  • Active registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.

  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the role and operate necessary respiratory equipment.
  • Commitment to understanding and implementing the principles of reconciliation and cultural safety.
