Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist I, NICU to join our team at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory therapy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in respiratory therapy to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy and successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care examination.
  • Current and continuing registration with British Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
