About the Role

As a dedicated Financial Advisor with Co-operators, you embody an entrepreneurial spirit. You are a results-driven professional who will oversee your own insurance agency while benefiting from the robust support of a well-established organization. In your capacity as an independent contracted Financial Advisor, you will forge strong connections within the community and nurture enduring relationships with your clientele. Utilizing our proprietary technology, tools, and methodologies, you will assist Canadians in evaluating, defining, and implementing strategies to fulfill their financial security requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying and engaging potential clients to discuss risk management and financial aspirations, while conducting thorough reviews to empower informed decision-making.
  • Building and maintaining strong community ties to enhance agency visibility and optimize new business prospects, contributing to sales and growth objectives.
  • Formulating and executing business, operational, and marketing strategies while supporting sustainability initiatives to bolster community resilience.
  • Recruiting, selecting, coaching, and mentoring team members, while managing performance to foster their development and achieve agency objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing requirements, ethical standards, and adherence to corporate policies, industry regulations, and legal mandates.
Expectations
  • Regularly engaging with clients and community members outside the office environment.
  • Possessing a personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and insurance is essential.
  • Providing support to clients experiencing personal or financial challenges, necessitating a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Undergoing a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment, if selected.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of management experience in the insurance sector or a related field.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline.
  • Possession of a Life license and a General Insurance license, with a Mutual Funds license considered an asset.
  • Completion or progress toward professional designations such as CFP, CLU, CHFC, or an accredited Financial Planning Designation.
