Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the GPRTA, aligning the organization's goals and initiatives with the needs of the region
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, Indigenous and Multicultural communities, and community groups
  • Oversee the day-to-day business operations of the GPRTA, ensuring efficient management of budgets, grants, and grant distribution
  • Develop and implement innovative marketing and promotional strategies to raise the profile of Grande Prairie and area as a premier tourism destination
  • Advocate on behalf of the local tourism industry, amplifying the voice of operators and championing their interests
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree related to a subject such as Commerce, Business Management, Hospitality & Tourism, or Marketing, or at least 3-5 years equivalent business experience
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license issued by the Province of Alberta with clean abstract
  • Willingness and ability to undertake extended travel within the local Grande Prairie region and surrounding areas as part of regular job duties
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
