Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Commercial Credit Reviews in line with relevant policies and procedures to assess the soundness of underwriting procedures and processes.
  • Assist in providing ongoing feedback and recommendations to management on credit policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the oversight of the management of the credit functions across the business lines to ensure adherence to credit policies.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports to Senior Management on credit risk across the Company.
  • Support the development and ongoing enhancements of relevant credit risk Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist and provide insights into risk management aspects of the development of new credit products.
  • Provide ongoing feedback pertaining to the Commercial Credit Reviews and QA Operational reviews.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of Credit Risk Management experience.
  • 5-8 years of lending experience with expertise in a combination of commercial banking, retail lending, real estate lending, asset-based lending or leasing, and portfolio management experience.
  • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree), preferably in business or finance.
  • Demonstrated performer who is a team player, detail oriented and excels at the execution of complex tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance laws and regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and to perform well in a high volume, high intensity environment.
  • Proven ability to work toward team goals and objectives.
  • Ability to communicate to Senior Management, written and verbally, in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Deep understanding of real estate/commercial/asset-based underwriting and valuation techniques, financial statement analysis, secured lending and factors affecting the mortgage market.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to contribute to multiple competing priorities.
