is in search of a seasoned and proactive Senior Director of Environmental Strategy to spearhead our sustainability efforts and reinforce our dedication to environmental, social, and governance excellence.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, the Senior Director of Environmental Strategy will be instrumental in defining and implementing AltaGas' Sustainability Framework.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Formulate and enhance AltaGas' Sustainability Framework, working collaboratively across various departments and business units to establish and assess progress, aligning sustainability goals with the company's strategic vision, operational objectives, industry standards, and the changing dynamics of the external landscape.

2. Cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and collaboration on sustainability projects.

3. Supervise the creation and dissemination of Sustainability reports, guaranteeing clarity and precision in performance reporting.

4. Lead initiatives to integrate Sustainability reporting with financial data in partnership with the Finance and Environment, Health, and Safety teams.

5. Ensure adherence to all pertinent sustainability laws, regulations, and industry benchmarks, upholding a robust corporate governance structure.

6. Evaluate and suggest voluntary reporting standards for the organization.

7. Identify, manage, and communicate sustainability-related risks, devising strategies to mitigate potential issues, while being an effective communicator, presenter, and representative for the organization.

8. Build and guide a high-performing team, offering mentorship and support to team members, demonstrating leadership capabilities and expertise in team development.

Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in successfully developing and executing sustainability strategies within the energy sector.

2. Over 5 years of specialized sustainability experience in the energy field, focusing on Exploration and Production, midstream, or utilities.

3. Strong familiarity with global sustainability frameworks (ISSB, TCFD, TNFD, SASB) and securities regulations for effective sustainability disclosure.

4. Experience in implementing climate scenario analysis into strategic planning.

5. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders, preparing presentations for the Board, and acting as a spokesperson for both internal and external audiences.

6. Experience in leading the development and publication of annual Sustainability reports for publicly traded entities.

7. In-depth knowledge of environmental and social sustainability best practices, trends, and regulations.

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

9. Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and promote a culture of sustainability.

10. Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
