About the Role

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) is seeking a highly skilled Programs Outreach Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Green Municipal Fund (GMF) team, you will play a critical role in promoting the adoption of local sustainability practices and supporting FCM's overall mandate as a national municipal association.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement: Act as the first point of contact for clients wanting to apply to FCM programs, providing assistance and guidance on eligibility and process.
  • Program Promotion: Develop and deliver effective presentations to various sized groups, adapting materials to those audiences accordingly.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to ongoing process improvements with a focus on improving client service.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in cross-functional team project work for GMF, FCM Programs department, or in FCM-wide initiatives.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Communicate and promote Programs through various channels, staying abreast of innovative trends and developments.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, project management, environment, business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience with direct client communications or community engagement, preferably in energy efficiency or retrofits, retrofit financing, transit, waste, water, or land use.
  • Competencies: Excellent client service orientation, strong written and oral communication skills, innovative, strategic thinker with proven initiative, strong political acumen, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to work in both official languages (English and French).
