About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Insulation Specialist to join our team at PB-23 DRYWALL & CONSTRUCTION LTD. As an Insulation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the energy efficiency and comfort of our clients' buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and Apply Insulation Materials: Choose the appropriate type of insulation required for each project and apply it using various methods, including spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, and other application and installation techniques.
  • Supervise and Train: Supervise and instruct apprentices on the proper installation and application of insulation materials.
  • Measure and Cut Insulation: Measure and cut insulating materials to the required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools.
  • Install Vapour Barriers and Fire-Retardant Materials: Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials to ensure the safety and integrity of our clients' buildings.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate the costs and materials required for each project, ensuring that our clients receive accurate and competitive quotes.
  • Operate Computer Software Systems: Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan insulation projects.
  • Remove Hazardous Materials: Remove asbestos, ceramic fibres, lead, and mould and urea-formaldehyde insulation materials from buildings, ensuring a safe working environment for our clients and their occupants.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure that insulation projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
Types of Systems
  • Underground Conduits and Piping: Insulate underground conduits and piping to prevent heat loss and ensure the integrity of our clients' buildings.
  • Steam and Condensate Process Lines: Insulate steam and condensate process lines to reduce energy consumption and improve the efficiency of our clients' buildings.
  • Precipitators: Insulate precipitators to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our clients' industrial equipment.
  • Turbines: Insulate turbines to reduce energy consumption and improve the efficiency of our clients' buildings.
  • Kilns: Insulate kilns to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our clients' industrial equipment.
  • Plumbing, Cold Water, and Drain Lines: Insulate plumbing, cold water, and drain lines to prevent heat loss and ensure the integrity of our clients' buildings.
  • Refrigeration: Insulate refrigeration systems to reduce energy consumption and improve the efficiency of our clients' buildings.
  • Ventilation and Exhaust: Insulate ventilation and exhaust systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our clients' buildings.
  • Hot Water System and Equipment: Insulate hot water systems and equipment to reduce energy consumption and improve the efficiency of our clients' buildings.
  • Air Conditioning System: Insulate air conditioning systems to reduce energy consumption and improve the efficiency of our clients' buildings.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physically Demanding: This role requires the ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Handling Heavy Loads: The Insulation Specialist must be able to handle heavy loads and equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of insulation projects.
  • Standing for Extended Periods: The Insulation Specialist must be able to stand for extended periods, often in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Bending, Crouching, Kneeling: The Insulation Specialist must be able to bend, crouch, and kneel to access and install insulation materials in tight spaces.
  • Overtime Required: This role may require overtime to meet project deadlines and ensure the timely completion of insulation projects.
  • Work Term: Permanent: This is a permanent full-time position, offering a stable and secure career path for the right candidate.
  • Work Language: English: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace, and the Insulation Specialist must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week: The Insulation Specialist will work a standard 40-hour week, with occasional overtime required to meet project deadlines.
