About the Role
As a key member of the MCAP team, you will be responsible for post-funding activities on our commercial CMHC-Insured and Conventional Mortgages. This includes managing the commercial mortgage portfolio, processing tax escrow accounts, and ensuring timely payment of tax disbursements to municipalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial mortgage portfolio, including tax escrow accounts and payment processing.
- Process tax disbursements to municipalities and reconcile cash disbursements to the mortgage system.
- Prepare tax escrow analysis on mortgage accounts to ensure sufficient funds are available for tax payments.
- Follow up with solicitors for final reports and ensure that final, signed mortgage documents are received and stored in individual mortgage files.
- Manage the solicitor final reports event on the system, including tracking due dates and outstanding items.
- Ensure that previous charges on title are discharged.
- Process PPSA renewals and amendments, and liaise with borrowers and third-party vendors as required.
- Post payments and invoices to the mortgage system, and prepare daily reconciliations and deposit slips.
- Handle mortgage discharge legal documentation, and liaise with solicitors to ensure timely and professional execution of documentation.
- Perform other post-funding activities as required, including reviewing quarterly CMBS reports and participating in internal and external audits.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in commercial mortgage administration, with a focus on tax escrow administration and knowledge of commercial mortgage legal documentation.
- Experience working in a loan servicing system.
- Proven track record of being a self-starter and taking initiative.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a proactive manner.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and pursue automation and process efficiencies.
- Strong organization and analytical skills.
- Self-driven and motivated to work in a dynamic environment where independent and teamwork is required.
- Proficient with numerical analysis and review of loan agreements.
- Bilingual (French and English).
- Post-secondary diploma or degree.
