We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Treatment Nurse to join our team at Ontario Healthcare Center.
Job Summary:
The Treatment Nurse will provide primary skin care to residents in accordance with their care plan, adhering to federal, state, and local standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in skilled nursing and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with the Care Planning Team to ensure accurate assessment evaluations
- Provide nursing care in a private and respectful manner, following facility policies
- Check vital signs and document resident progress notes
- Dress wounds and make rounds with physicians as requested
- Listen to residents and their families, addressing their questions and concerns
- Abide by facility policies and procedures, including infection control protocols
- Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
- Attend annual facility in-service training programs and meetings as required
Requirements:
- RN Nursing Degree or LVN from an accredited school or college
- Valid RN or LVN license in good standing
- Valid CPR and BLS card
- Minimum of 6 months skilled nursing experience preferred
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
Working Conditions:
- May encounter frequent interruptions
- May be involved with residents, family, and government agencies
- May be requested to work beyond scheduled working hours at times
- Is subject to call back during emergency conditions
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day
- Working throughout the nursing areas
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier weights
