Position Summary

As an integral member of an inter-professional inpatient rehabilitation team, you will report directly to the Manager of the Restorative Care Unit. Your role will involve the development, design, implementation, evaluation, and adjustment of personalized and group therapeutic recreation, leisure, and life skills programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead special community-based events and group programming aimed at fostering optimal social and recreational skills for patients aged 18 and older, particularly those with physical, cognitive, or social challenges.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for patients, families, and fellow healthcare team members within a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Embrace and promote the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related Allied Health program, with completion of a recognized Therapeutic Recreation degree program.
  • Membership in Therapeutic Recreation Ontario is mandatory.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
