Position Overview: We are looking for a proficient and committed individual to take on the role of Regional Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute the Health and Safety programs, policies, and procedures across various site locations.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of a comprehensive corporate HSE management system.
  • Gather and analyze statistical data, producing trends for leading and lagging indicators, ensuring accurate information collection.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work processes to identify and evaluate potential hazards or risks.
  • Collaborate with regional managers and site supervisors to foster a culture of safety, ensuring all personnel receive appropriate training and education on health and safety practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities and client stakeholders to ensure compliance and stay updated on changes in health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate active WCB claims and monitor the modified work program.
  • Provide guidance and support to regional teams in conducting risk assessments, developing project safety plans, and implementing suitable control measures.
  • Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance metrics, trends, and initiatives to senior management, emphasizing areas for improvement and proposing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on various health and safety topics, ensuring employees understand their responsibilities and the significance of maintaining a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
  • Certification in Health and Safety, NCSO, CRSP, or a related safety designation is an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in safety or a related field, with at least 3+ years' experience as a health & safety manager.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), experience with SharePoint, and extensive Internet search capabilities.
  • Proven experience as a health and safety professional, focusing on managing the company safety program and initiatives in a multi-site or regional capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S, as well as federal health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

Work Environment: This position will involve fieldwork approximately 75% of the time, with 25% office-based responsibilities.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with some weekends and on-call duties.
