Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor department staff to foster a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with various teams to promote a strong safety culture and encourage safe work practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports and analytics to monitor HSE metrics and assess program effectiveness.
  • Serve as the HSE subject matter expert in communications with government agencies and other external stakeholders.
  • Manage WCB accounts and handle case management.
  • Oversee contractor management programs and third-party vendor compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to OHS regulations and federal standards.
  • Manage out-of-province safety requirements and conduct compliance audits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience as an HSE Manager in the oil and gas industry.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract.
  • Valid H2S, CSO, and First Aid certifications.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive HSE programs.
  • Preference for candidates with recognized safety credentials (NCSO or CRSP).
  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies and policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in P&ID interpretation and knowledgeable in risk management strategies.
  • In-depth understanding of HSE regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.
