Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Sourcing Specialist to join our team at Sherwood Electromotion Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers worldwide to meet our procurement needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Conduct thorough research to identify potential suppliers globally, evaluating their capabilities, financial stability, and production capacity.
  2. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  3. Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitor and maintain supplier performance in quality, on-time delivery, and adherence to specifications.
  4. Supply Chain Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain and minimize lead times.
  5. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to global sourcing, including geopolitical, economic, and logistical risks.
  6. Communication and Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, fostering collaboration and mutual benefit.
Requirements
  1. Education: Post-secondary in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Proven experience in global sourcing and procurement, preferably in a similar industry.
  3. Skills: Strong negotiation and contract management skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and proficiency in English and possibly other relevant languages.
  4. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using procurement and supply chain management software.
Additional Skills
  1. Search Skills: Excellent search skills and knowledge of tools to expand suppliers in low-cost countries.
  2. Product Classification: Good understanding of product classifications such as HS, HTS, SIC, and others.
  3. Business Intelligence: Ability to grow company market share, reduce costs in the supply chain, generate business intelligence, and save valuable time.
