Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Landscape Labourer to join our team at 1482573 Ontario Ltd. As a key member of our outdoor maintenance team, you will be responsible for assisting with landscape constructions, tying and securing plants, and performing various tasks related to lawn care and gardening.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including planting, pruning, and trimming trees and plants.
  • Tie and secure plants, ensuring they are properly anchored and stable.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Cut grass and perform other lawn care tasks as needed.
  • Rake and collect refuse, removing litter and garbage from the work site.
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials as required.
  • Lay sod or seed, and plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
  • Apply fertilizers and other chemicals as needed.
  • Repair and maintain equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Write daily basic progress reports to keep management informed.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, ensuring they receive adequate care.
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, including backhoes, chain saws, and tractors.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as landscaping or gardening.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Availability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Working Conditions

This is a temporary, full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The work site environment is outdoors, with dusty and hot conditions. The work setting is in an urban and rural area, with a focus on landscape maintenance and on-site customer service.
