Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned strategic leader to oversee labour and employee relations across our client's national retail and distribution network. This key leadership position will drive labour relations strategies aligned with business objectives, manage collective bargaining processes, and lead the company's proactive and reactive response to union activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective labour relations strategies that support business objectives
  • Manage collective bargaining processes to achieve mutually beneficial agreements
  • Leverage expertise to mitigate labour risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Foster a positive work environment through best employment practices and employee education

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in labour relations, collective bargaining, and team development, particularly within the Canadian landscape. They should be adept at identifying labour risks, guiding organizational change, and influencing decisions that align with company values and labour strategies.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in labour relations strategy and collective bargaining
  • Strong understanding of labour laws and regulations in Canada
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including corporate leaders and union representatives

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $120,000 and $180,000, depending on experience. Our client offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement savings options.
