Job Summary
VCA Canada is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team on a part-time basis, providing weekend coverage at our Ottawa Veterinary Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, patient care, and diagnostic testing.
- Prepare and maintain patient records, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation.
- Provide exceptional patient care, including compassionate handling and monitoring of hospitalized patients.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other veterinary professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program.
- Knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, support staff, and pet owners.
