Job Summary

VCA Canada is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team of skilled veterinary professionals. As a key member of our hospital team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our veterinarians and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including physical examinations, patient assessment, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Prepare and maintain patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and test results.
  • Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients and their owners, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other staff members to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and technologies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a veterinary technician or animal health technician program.
  • Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with veterinarians, staff members, and pet owners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and support to our veterinarians and other staff members.
