Position Overview

The Mechanical Engineering Co-op at FortisBC provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the design and operation of the gas system. As a co-op student, you will work closely with engineers, managers, and other stakeholders to complete various project-related assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Design natural gas facilities and pipelines, including stress analysis and equipment sizing and selection
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to complete capital projects
  • Perform engineering assessments, identify opportunities and deficiencies, and complete written reports/proposals for existing and proposed infrastructure
  • Research and develop design standards
  • Recommend process improvements and ensure compliance to company and industry codes and standards
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program with a Mechanical focus, preferably in the third or fourth year
  • Participating in a Co-op program
  • Valid driver's license and current abstract
