Job Title: Engineering Co-op, Mechanical/Chemical

FortisBC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op student to join our team as an Engineering Co-op, Mechanical/Chemical. This 8-month co-op term will provide opportunities for engagement with engineers, managers, and others in different departments in the organization, and provide an understanding of some of the workings within the operating and engineering groups at FortisBC.

Responsibilities:
  • Design of natural gas facilities and pipelines including stress analysis and equipment sizing and selection
  • Engage various internal and external stakeholders and team members in completion of capital projects
  • Perform engineering assessments, identify opportunities and deficiencies, and complete written reports/proposals for existing and proposed infrastructure
  • Research and develop design standards
  • Recommend process improvements and ensure compliance to company and industry codes and standards
Requirements:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program with a Mechanical or Chemical focus recommended- Third or Fourth year preferred
  • Enrolled in a Co-op program
  • Valid driver's license and current abstract
