Job Title: Engineering Co-op, Mechanical/Chemical

FortisBC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op student to join our team as an Engineering Co-op, Mechanical/Chemical. This 8-month co-op term will provide opportunities for engagement with engineers, managers, and other stakeholders in different departments within the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and operate natural gas facilities and pipelines, including stress analysis and equipment sizing and selection.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders and team members to complete capital projects.
  • Perform engineering assessments, identify opportunities and deficiencies, and complete written reports/proposals for existing and proposed infrastructure.
  • Research and develop design standards.
  • Recommend process improvements and ensure compliance to company and industry codes and standards.
Requirements:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program with a Mechanical or Chemical focus, preferably in the third or fourth year.
  • Enrolled in a Co-op program.
  • Valid driver's license and current abstract.
