We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Manager to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario. As a key member of our organization, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions and lead a team of 11 professionals across the region.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee financial accounting and reporting, corporate consolidation, cash management, payables, inventory, payroll, credit/collections, fixed assets, and leases.
- Assess current systems and develop/implement new processes and policies to drive efficiency and growth.
- Work closely with senior leadership to review and report on annual operating results.
- Lead AP/AR functions, including EFT payment runs, wire transfers, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure consistent cash flow and identify problem areas to create solutions.
- Manage Treasury, Billing functions, Month End Close, and Reporting.
- Perform month end procedures, approve and post all GL entries/inter-company transactions, and perform reconciliations.
- Manage payroll for employees, review and approve all payroll input data for third-party services.
- Compile data, statistics, metrics, and other information to assist with corporate planning, targeting, budgeting, and goal attainment.
- Lead the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Prepare government and statutory reporting as necessary.
- Prepare year-end financial statements with external accountants and tax advisors.
- 7+ years of experience at a Senior Management Level.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Public accounting background or from a large corporation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Manufacturing or service industry experience a big asset.
- Acquisition and consolidation experience a big asset.
