About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Communications Officer to join our team in downtown Edmonton on a 6-month contract basis. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for monitoring phone lines and radios, performing inbound and outbound calls, and handling emergency situations with professionalism and poise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to emergency situations, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Perform inbound and outbound calls to check in on remote workers and provide information and updates.
  • Handle inbound calls from external customers, responding to inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination during emergency situations.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in an emergency communications environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and handle complex calls and stressful situations.
  • Strong typing skills and intermediate skills with MS Office Suite.
