About the Role:

As a Health Care Aide with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support services in a variety of settings, including home, community, and healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal assistance and support to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with patient care plans and facility policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Assist nurses with the provision of routine care, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
  • Observe and report on patient mood, health, and wellbeing to healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory.
  • Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum may be considered.
