Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering specialized engineering expertise for municipal construction endeavors
- Overseeing technical personnel to ensure adherence to established standards and protocols
- Planning and coordinating the design and execution of construction projects
- Tracking project costs and ensuring budgetary compliance
- Conducting comprehensive design work and managing contract processes
- Collaborating with local authorities for project alignment
- Revising tender specifications for construction initiatives
- Representing the engineering department at community meetings and engaging with government representatives
- Managing quality assurance testing services
- Assessing system inadequacies and proposing policies for infrastructure upkeep
- Mentoring and supervising Construction Inspectors
- Executing special projects that involve external funding sources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Civil Engineer (P. Eng.)
- A minimum of five years of experience in municipal infrastructure
- Proficient in relevant computer systems and software
- Strong leadership and communication capabilities
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
- Ability to adapt to varying workloads
- Valid Class G driver's license
- Completion of Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness training
- Dedication to a culture of safety
Compensation: Annual salary ranging from $108,945 to $127,436
Work Environment: Primarily based at City Hall with opportunities for remote work
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
