Mechanical Designer Position

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems for advanced nuclear technology. This role is crucial in the Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions division, focusing on innovative mechanical equipment tailored for CANDU reactors and associated systems.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Engage in the design process for automated and semi-automated machinery utilizing CAD software.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering teams to ensure project success.
  • Create detailed drawings, layouts, and material lists.
  • Provide support across Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing departments.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and industry regulations.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Occasional travel to client locations may be required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical certification in Mechanical Engineering with pertinent design experience.
  • Expertise in 3D parametric CAD software.
  • Familiarity with drafting methodologies and GD&T principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the design of mechanical systems.
  • Membership in a recognized certifying body.
  • Understanding of product data management systems.
  • Knowledge of standards within the Nuclear Industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project teams and clients.
