Position Overview

Join our team at Oya Japanese Restaurant Sun Peaks as a Culinary Support Staff. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sanitation: Ensure all kitchen items, including dishwasher mats and waste disposal units, are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Table Management: Clear and tidy tables, trays, and chairs to maintain a welcoming dining environment.
  • Dishwashing: Operate dishwashers to effectively wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
  • Storage: Organize and place dishes in designated storage areas.
  • Manual Washing: Sanitize and wash dishes and other kitchen items by hand as needed.
  • Pot and Pan Care: Scour and maintain pots and pans to ensure they are ready for use.
  • Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of food quantities used in the kitchen.
  • Food Preparation: Utilize manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim food items.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Clean and sanitize all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, and equipment.
  • Cleaning Supplies: Handle and store cleaning products safely.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in appropriate areas.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash regularly.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish kitchen floors to maintain hygiene.
  • Vegetable and Fruit Preparation: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits for meal preparation.
Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
