About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Senior Operations Manager** to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facilities, ensuring that we meet our high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a cross-functional team of production supervisors and coordinators to achieve operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to set and achieve production goals, targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including food safety, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including production, quality, and maintenance teams.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to production supervisors and coordinators to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure that our manufacturing processes are aligned with our company's values and standards.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and experimentation throughout the organization.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as business, engineering, or operations management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving operational excellence, improving efficiency, and reducing costs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
