Job Summary:

Tanbridge Academy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced English Language Learner Instructor to lead our ELL Program. As a key member of our academic team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons to non-native speakers, promoting language acquisition and cultural understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Create and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth and social interaction.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress, identify areas of improvement, and inform instruction.
  • Student Support: Provide individualized support to students with special requirements, such as learning disabilities, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure inclusive practices.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in language instruction and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills.
  • Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents, colleagues, and administrators to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning community.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Certification: Alberta Teaching Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in teaching English as a second language, preferably in a private school setting.
  • Skills: Strong research and teaching skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
