Job Summary
The Senior Communications Specialist, Web is a key member of the BC Housing team, responsible for developing and implementing digital strategies to support the organization's online presence. This role requires a strong understanding of web design, content management systems, and user experience principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital strategies to enhance BC Housing's online presence
- Write and manage content for the organization's website, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and develop effective digital solutions
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in web design, content management, and user experience
- Provide training and support to colleagues on digital tools and platforms
- Contribute to the development of BC Housing's digital governance framework
Requirements
- Advanced diploma in web design development, digital communications, marketing, or a related field
- Considerable experience in website management, including experience in developing digital strategies, maintaining large complex websites, and writing/creating content for online audiences
- Considerable experience working with content management systems, user-experience optimization, usability assessments, and service delivery websites
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer
Preferred Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of webpage structuring and designing tools, including HTML and CSS
- Sound knowledge of strategic communications planning, content writing, and strategy
- Strong web writing and editing skills to communicate clearly with all audiences
- Sound knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint and Teams
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to travel on business and work evenings and weekends as required
- Valid BC Driver's License and ability to meet requirements for car rental insurance
