About the BC Liquor Distribution Branch

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is a key player in the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in British Columbia. As a government agency, the LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB is committed to supporting the government's goals of improving services and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations. The revenue generated by the LDB helps fund essential public services like healthcare, education, and community programming.

About this Role

The Digital Communications and Engagement Specialist will play a critical role in leading the LDB's digital communication strategies and content. This includes strengthening relationships with employees, customers, and stakeholders, and managing the LDB's reputation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Manager of Communications and Stakeholder Relations and the Director of Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations to define and implement the overall digital communications plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement digital communications and corporate communication strategies, policies, plans, and performance metrics to achieve set goals.
  • Design and execute digital communications channels, and develop new digital communication tools, technologies, strategies, and design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve digital communications objectives.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a degree or diploma in communications, digital strategy, or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of recent, related work experience. Alternatively, a combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing digital communications and corporate communication strategies, policies, plans, and performance metrics to achieve set goals. They will also have experience in web content and/or social media strategy development, execution, and evaluation, as well as preparing and proofreading content for online, publications, documents, social media, reports, and communication materials for mass distribution.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience leading digital communications and engagement in a government or regulatory environment, experience with website design and user experience, experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, experience in audio/video production, and experience managing large, virtual meetings.
