About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Technical Services group, you will play a critical role in promoting a safe, healthy, and inclusive built environment across the province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and design services at all stages of project planning and execution, including input to the Capital Planning process and assessment of existing infrastructure.
  • Develop scopes for approved projects and provide design services within the capacity of the team, in coordination with all disciplines.
  • Provide design review services of submittals from external service providers and technical and construction administration support to the project team during the tender, award, execution, and close-out phases of the project.
  • Collaborate with our Asset Management, Construction, and Project partners to facilitate the development of corporate standards that support decision making and influence portfolio investment into the future.
Requirements
  • Licensed Professional Architect with the Nova Scotia Association of Architects (NSAA) or eligible for licensure through an association with a reciprocity agreement.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in architectural design and project management.
  • Proven track record of providing technical and design services at all stages of project planning and execution.
  • Experience working with skilled Trades People, Construction Supervisors, Engineers, and Design Consultants.
  • Strong problem-solving competencies and superior communication skills.
