Job Title: Farm Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team at Sandhills Seed Potatoes Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our farm, ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality potatoes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and ensure the smooth operation of the farm.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications and maintain quality control and production records.
  • Mixing fertilizer and oversee the activities of clearing the fields.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures.
  • Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting.
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
  • Maintain quality control and production records.
  • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • Perform general farm duties.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a farm supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physically demanding role requiring regular lifting, bending, and standing.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
