About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team at Sandhills Seed Potatoes Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our farm, ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality potatoes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and optimize farm operations
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications and maintain quality control
  • Mix and apply fertilizers as required
  • Oversee the activities of clearing the fields and ensure soil fertility programs are in place
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Provide agricultural crop services, including plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate production records and quality control
  • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Perform general farm duties as required
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
