Farm Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team at Sandhills Seed Potatoes Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our farm, ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality crops.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and optimize crop production
  • Oversee the activities of clearing the fields, soil fertility programs, and farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Perform general farm duties
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in farm operations or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality control
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a rural area with exposure to odours and potato and vegetable environments
  • Work in a physically demanding environment with fast-paced deadlines
