Machining Operations Supervisor

The Machining Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities within the machining department, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Educational Requirements- Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Engineering or Technology.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Focus on assembly, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Fast-paced setting with tight deadlines.
- Estimate costs and materials for production.
- Utilize CADD and other software systems for operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present production reports.
- Recruit, hire, and train new employees.
- Coordinate and schedule departmental activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee daily operations and project management.
- Order necessary materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Set up and maintain machinery and equipment.
- Supervise a team of 5-10 workers, including machinists and inspectors.
- Manage a diverse team including labourers and structural metal fabricators.
- Experience in automotive parts manufacturing and metal products manufacturing is preferred.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Permanent position with a standard workweek of 35 hours.
- Work language: English.
