About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide collaborative, holistic care on the primary to quaternary care continuum.

As a Health Care Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing the psychosocial needs of patients and families, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing education and support to promote healthy behaviors and coping strategies.

You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate services to meet the needs of patients and families.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong commitment to providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers.

You will have a minimum of 2 years of post-Bachelor's degree experience in a healthcare setting, with a strong background in assessment, treatment planning, and group facilitation.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Hours

This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly. You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $33.97 - $42.89 per hour, plus benefits and a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
