Job Title: Geriatric Social Worker

We are seeking a skilled Geriatric Social Worker to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As a Geriatric Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing social services to our elderly clients, supporting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing and implementing care plans, and providing counseling and therapy to help clients resolve social and personal problems. You will also supervise other social workers, paid para-professional staff, student trainees, and volunteers, and perform administrative tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess client needs and develop care plans
  • Provide counseling and therapy to clients
  • Supervise social workers, para-professionals, and volunteers
  • Perform administrative tasks
  • Develop and implement prevention and intervention programs
  • Advocate on behalf of clients
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP diploma in Social Work or related field
  • Experience working with elderly clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle
