Job Description

The Accelerated Financial Planning Career Program at TD Wealth is a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as a Financial Planner. This program provides on-the-job training through rotations in multiple departments, allowing you to gain hands-on experience and develop a deep understanding of the financial planning process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level sales and service support to TD Wealth Financial Planners, assisting them with progress reviews, client contact, and business building.
  • Assist Financial Planners in their daily business activities, ensuring a legendary client experience while adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Complete discovery meetings to gather financial information from clients, providing clear agendas, documentation, insights, and reports to the Financial Planner in preparation for client meetings.
  • Manage sales pipeline leads and prepare for and/or engage with clients on outbound sales calls.
  • Build knowledge of the business, competitive landscape, and economic/market trends and issues.
Final Rotations
  • Provide financial planning and advice to investors, focusing on retirement and investment planning, by assisting clients in meeting their financial goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate the identification, pursuit, or management of accounts/opportunities with others, taking a primary role in managing the relationship.
  • Assist clients in identifying goals and potential barriers, recommending appropriate solutions and providing ongoing relationship management through investment recommendations, including third-party mutual funds.
  • Actively acquire external assets through effective financial planning and sales conversations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Graduating in 2024 with an undergraduate degree.
  • Working towards QAFP™ certification, PFP certification, IQPF certification (Quebec), or CFP® certification.
  • CSC certification would be an asset.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Business, finance, and quantitative skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Good foundation in business acumen, problem-solving skills, and analytical capabilities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Experience in financial modeling.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proactive mindset to take initiative.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
