Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Managing Supervisor to join our team at BEST WESTERN PLUS. As a key member of our hotel management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and leading a team of staff to achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and manage a team of 16-20 staff members, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Guest Services
    • Assist guests with special needs, ensuring their requirements are met and they have a memorable stay with us.
    • Co-ordinate and review work to ensure seamless delivery of guest services, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Co-ordinate, assign, and review work to ensure efficient operation of hotel services, including front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage.
    • Requisition materials and supplies, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely delivery.
    • Maintain the operation of computer systems, equipment, and machinery, arranging repair work as needed to ensure business continuity and customer service delivery.
  • Human Resources
    • Hire and train staff in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies, ensuring they are equipped to provide exceptional guest experiences.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Work Environment and Conditions
    • Work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities to meet deadlines and achieve business objectives.
    • Work under pressure, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor, even in challenging situations.
    • Be flexible and adaptable, responding to changing circumstances and priorities as needed.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in the hospitality industry.
  • Skills and Qualities
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities to meet deadlines and achieve business objectives.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
