Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to become a vital part of our Genetics team in Toronto, ON.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct a variety of diagnostic and interpretive specimen tests.
  2. Perform, analyze, and report results while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  3. Identify and address incidents and non-conformities, contributing to the development of effective corrective action plans.
  4. Assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies.
  5. Engage in problem-solving related to workflow and organization.

This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday. Our facilities are recognized as 'teaching laboratories,' providing opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration, along with 24-hour medical support.

  1. An advanced diploma in Clinical Genetics Technology from a recognized institution.
  2. CMLTO registration in Clinical Genetics with dual Molecular & Cytogenetics.
  3. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
  4. Proficient computer skills.
  5. Problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to identify and address issues.
  6. A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and patient confidentiality.
Technical Qualifications
  1. Experience in a Molecular setting and familiarity with instruments used in Molecular diagnostics.
  2. A solid understanding of Total Quality Management Systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  3. Ability to multitask effectively.
  4. Capability to participate in interprofessional activities and projects as needed.
  5. Preference for candidates who can troubleshoot and provide corrective actions for discordant results.
