LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is currently seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to contribute to our Genetics team.

**Signing bonus of $5000 + Relocation bonus available**

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for providing precise and timely diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. Your role will significantly impact patient well-being and health outcomes through accuracy, quality, and efficiency in test result processing. This position is ideal for a meticulous, hands-on individual who excels in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting a variety of diagnostic and interpretive specimen tests.
  • Performing, interpreting, and releasing results while ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Identifying incidents and non-conformities, contributing to the development of effective corrective action plans, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Assisting in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.
  • Engaging in problem-solving related to work organization and workflow.

This is a Full-Time position with Day Shifts from Monday to Friday. LifeLabs' facilities are also known for their educational opportunities, allowing for knowledge sharing in a collaborative environment, along with 24-hour medical support through our Medical Science team and Medical library.

Students currently enrolled in the Genetics Technology program and graduating in 2024 are encouraged to apply.

  • An advanced diploma in Clinical Genetics Technology from the Michener Institute or the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
  • CMLTO registration in Clinical Genetics - Dual Molecular & Cytogenetics.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge.
  • Problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to identify and address issues.
  • The ability to uphold the highest standards of safety, patient privacy, and confidentiality.
