Role Summary

The Internal Audit Department of the Bank plays a crucial role in the overall risk management framework. Its primary objective is to deliver independent, reasonable, and objective assurance regarding the design and effectiveness of the Bank's controls and operational processes, while also providing advisory services aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

This position is responsible for executing and overseeing audits that evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls related to trading and treasury functions across various locations. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team primarily focused on auditing Group Treasury (GT) and its associated control functions, including Finance, Product Control, and Global Risk Management. The role involves assisting the Director/VP of GBM/GT Audit in evaluating governance and controls over GT's trading and investment portfolios, funding programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management controls, measurement techniques, limits, and reporting based on a comprehensive understanding of treasury strategies and products related to interest rate risk, liquidity, and funding management.
  • Assess the controls surrounding trading practices within Front Office units, risk oversight in the second line of defense, and controls related to financial reporting and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP).
  • Examine the adequacy of methodologies and data integrity concerning structural interest rate risk and liquidity risk measurements.
  • Supervise audit managers and auditors in conducting comprehensive business line reviews as directed by the Director/VP of GBM/GT Audit.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of capital markets and banking products, along with a solid grasp of risk management techniques and data risk management.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in treasury functions, capital markets, risk management, financial reporting, or audit roles.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to assess risk exposures in complex products and comprehend risk quantification methodologies. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Python) is advantageous.
  • Ability to swiftly understand the risks associated with new products and processes, and develop audit procedures to ensure adequate controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective leadership skills.
  • Prior experience in liquidity regulatory reporting, FTP, trading, and structural interest rate risk is beneficial.
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, or a related field is required. Professional designations such as FRM, CPA, and/or CFA are considered assets.
