About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AVP, Retail Loss Prevention to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As a key member of our corporate security team, you will play a critical role in overseeing the loss prevention activities for our corporate owned retail banners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to minimize loss and protect company assets across all corporate owned retail banners.
- Lead and manage a team of Loss Prevention professionals across the country, providing guidance, coaching, support, and performance evaluations.
- Develop, train and deliver education to supported business areas, leadership and store level employees to promote loss prevention programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement loss prevention projects and pilots associated to loss prevention and loss reduction initiatives.
- Plan, prioritize, and implement loss prevention systems (video, EAS, intrusion) aligned to capital plans and developed standards.
- Oversee vendor management performance aligned to Corporate Security standards.
- Further the posture of data analytics and reporting and deliver result-oriented dashboards and inventory metrics on an established basis.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and industry partners and committees on industry projects, education and current trends with appropriate application of solutioning.
- Conduct regular audits of stores and related eco-systems to assess compliance with loss prevention policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience of 5+ years in a leadership role within a retail loss prevention or corporate security environment.
- Bachelor's degree or post secondary education in Criminal Justice, Police Foundations and/or Investigations, Criminology Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume demanding retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of loss prevention techniques, including investigations.
- Familiarity with provincial and federal legislative regulations, such as Criminal Code of Canada, varying privacy laws and Canada Evidence Act.
- This role will require at least 40% traveling across the country.
