Job Title: Loss Prevention Associate

The Loss Prevention Associate plays a critical role in protecting UNIQLO's assets and ensuring the safety of customers and employees. Reporting to the Store Manager and Area Loss Prevention Manager, this position is responsible for implementing and executing all Loss Prevention initiatives and policies within their assigned location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loss Prevention Program Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of Loss Prevention programs and initiatives to protect company assets and ensure customer and employee safety.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to store personnel on Loss Prevention policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure a high level of awareness and compliance.
  • Shoplifting Detection and Apprehension: Detect and identify shoplifters, safely apprehend subjects or recover merchandise in accordance with federal and provincial laws, as well as company and department policy.
  • Internal Investigation and Case Management: Assist the Area Loss Prevention Manager with detection and investigation of internal theft and policy violation incidents, tracking internal investigations and external theft incidents within the department's case management system.
  • Loss Reduction Initiatives: Implement loss reduction initiatives in partnership with store teams and Loss Prevention senior management, following up as necessary on throughout the inventory cycle to ensure compliance and report progress to the Store Manager, Area Loss Prevention Manager, and others as directed.
  • Technology Utilization: Utilize Loss Prevention technology equipment, including CCTV, Access Control, EAS, and exception-based reporting systems, to identify and act on loss and safety issues within assigned locations.
  • Inventory Management: Utilize the store RFID Inventory system and provide training to store team members on an ongoing basis, correcting and resolving operational issues in partnership with the store team, Area Loss Prevention Manager, and the LP Inventory Accuracy team.
  • Financial Inventory and Cycle Counts: Provide direct support to assigned locations for taking of financial inventory, and RFID-based cycle counts as directed.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Regularly communicate with other LP team members, and support cross-communication between store team members, and other departments to identify common issues.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience in Loss Prevention or Asset Protection in a multi-unit capacity.
  • Full understanding of Canadian federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations regarding apprehensions, safety, and all aspects of Loss Prevention.
  • Provincially licensed is also a requirement for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience in Internal Investigation, including use of exception reporting systems, as well as managing external apprehension programs.
  • Proven ability to interface with law enforcement and legal professionals on both criminal and civil matters.
  • Experience with Loss Prevention technology and methods, including CCTV, covert surveillance, EAS, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and inventory accuracy principles, including familiarity with RFID technology.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Problem-solver and results-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Works well with teams and autonomously.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with using MS Office and G-Suite.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for entire shift and be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular travel within assigned location(s) is required; other occasional travel may be necessary as per the needs of the business.
