Role Overview

As part of CIBC's Enterprise Technology team, specifically within information security technology, the Integration Solutions Specialist will take charge of the comprehensive technical design and development of applications across various technology platforms. This role requires a deep technical understanding and the ability to analyze business dynamics to assess impacts and propose effective solutions. The Integration Solutions Specialist will translate business requirements into programming instructions, encompassing design, coding, and testing of applications. Additionally, this position is crucial in developing and implementing database management solutions that support the organization’s backup strategies. The role demands sound judgment and autonomy in daily tasks, with the responsibility to analyze data sources and collaborate with users on their requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Systems Implementation: Engage in the technical design, development, and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. A solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, databases, and networking is essential.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Skills: Collaborate with key business and technology partners to ensure that business and client impact issues are thoroughly understood and resolved. Adhere to all regulatory and information security standards in application management while providing technical guidance on the implications of application development projects.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with technical team members, clients, vendors, and peers. Lead discussions, actively listen, and ask pertinent questions to identify and resolve issues effectively. Communicate clearly and effectively, recognizing that communication encompasses tone, style, and structure.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience of 2-3 years as an Application Developer/Support and Integration Specialist, adept at supporting internal clients. Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and scripting languages such as Python and Bash is required. Experience in application production support, logical thinking, and troubleshooting is essential. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is advantageous.
  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
  • A collaborative mindset, understanding that teamwork can enhance ideas and drive a shared vision.
  • A strong commitment to client service, ensuring that daily tasks contribute to a positive client experience.
  • Analytical skills to investigate complex problems and convey detailed information effectively.
