OCAD University is seeking a qualified instructor to teach a course on the History of Political Thought in the Faculty of Arts & Science.
Course Description:This course explores the evolution of political thought, with a focus on Canadian politics and its historical context. Students will examine the key concepts and theoretical arguments that shape modern political theory, including classical definitions of the political, conservatism and liberalism, socialism, anarchism, and communism.
Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, critiques, and evaluations
- Teach and assess student learning, including mid-term and final evaluations
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Compensation includes a per-course pay scale, plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the Employment Standards Act.
