Role Overview:
We are seeking a Safety Operations Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing Health and Safety initiatives within the designated area, ensuring adherence to all applicable federal, provincial, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Regional Safety Director, managing Health and Safety operations.
- Provide expert guidance and strategic direction in Safety, Health, and Environmental matters to mitigate employee injuries and illnesses.
- Lead and supervise Site Safety Advisors, ensuring effective safety practices are implemented.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Health, Safety, and Environment management system.
- Identify training needs and deliver necessary training to meet organizational objectives.
- Assess specific Health, Safety, and Environmental risks, establishing plans, standards, procedures, and accountability systems in line with company policies and legal requirements.
- Monitor compliance to minimize risks effectively.
- Conduct thorough investigations on-site as necessary.
- Foster Management's awareness of integrating Health, Safety, and Environmental considerations into project management responsibilities.
- Ensure effective planning, coordination, and communication regarding Health, Safety, and Environmental systems, including status updates and follow-up actions.
- Analyze Health, Safety, and Environmental indicators, trends, and performance metrics; oversee the preparation of hazard assessments by the project team.
- Conduct regular safety discussions, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
- Support health and safety committee initiatives and the development of site safety personnel.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current safety regulations in construction and general industry, analyzing data to ensure employee and site safety.
- Possess extensive knowledge of federal and provincial safety codes and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Demonstrate advanced skills in assessing training needs, creating training materials, and delivering effective training sessions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- While the NCSO designation is not mandatory, it is considered advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Safety is essential, with a background in construction, industrial, or commercial sectors preferred. Experience with scaffolding is a plus.
