Training and Development Manager

Job Summary:
The Sales Trainer will play a key role in creating, implementing, and conducting training that helps sales teams achieve their sales and career goals. This position will partner with leadership and the national training team to lead learning and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess organizational training and development needs through surveys, interviews, and communication with team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in learning and development.
- Create, organize, plan, and present various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training.
- Develop and acquire unique training plans and materials to fulfill the specific needs of team members.
- Use various learning formats, including in-person and virtual training, experiential simulations, and videos.
- Maintain training and development KPIs and evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
- Assist team members with career pathing and development plans.
- Ensure training needs are met.
- Participate in the National Training Council to develop and maintain training materials for the sales force.
- Deliver Gordon Food Service training and track it in the Learning Management System.
- Evaluate training effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree required.
- Degree/Diploma or Certification in Adult Education or a related field preferred.
- Bachelor Degree in Sales, Business, Adult Education, or a related field preferred.
- Two years of previous communications or training and development experience or an equivalent combination of education, selling skills training, and experience required.
- Learning and Development, Learning Management Systems, and/or experience in adult education would be considered an asset.
- Travel required up to 30% of the time.
- Ability to communicate effectively with excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze complex problems/situations and provide recommendations and solutions.
- Ability to translate strategic initiatives into concrete objectives and action plans.
- Ability to develop presentations and skill using audio/visual equipment for presentations.
- Ability to communicate and present material in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management to facilitate group discussions and convey company programs and training.
- Experience in training both in-person and remote teams.
- Certification in group facilitation is an asset.
- Bilingualism (FR/ENG) is an asset.
- Knowledge of current industry trends.
Equipment/Tools/Technology:
- SAP Experience.
- Experience using Revenue Management Applications.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentations, email, and internet software applications.
- Learning Management System knowledge and skill.
- Audio Visual equipment, including overhead projectors.
- Laptop computer and basic office equipment.
- Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive, Sites, Groups).
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
