Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Banquet Houseperson at The University of British Columbia. This role is responsible for setting up and resetting room venues, providing general assistance for conferences and meetings, and delivering food and beverages to various locations on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and reset room venues, including tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment
  • Deliver food and beverages to various locations on campus, including conferences and meetings
  • Provide general assistance to conference organizers and attendees, including answering questions and resolving issues
  • Maintain records of food and equipment delivered to and picked up from various campus locations
  • Perform routine fueling and maintenance of company vehicles
  • Load and unload equipment, supplies, and other materials from vehicles
  • Assist with event setup and teardown, including cleaning and resetting rooms
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and clients
Requirements
  • High school graduation and a valid BC driver's license
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Physical ability to lift 30 kg
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to lift and move heavy objects.
